Manufacturing Technician – Lead

Operations | Irvine, California

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Lead Manufacturing Technician is responsible for assembly, testing and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical assemblies for Freedom Innovations. The Lead Manufacturing Technician is also responsible for providing guidance to manufacturing technicians and overseeing workflow through their area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for preparing and assembling materials.
  • Responsible for testing products or subassemblies for functionality or quality.
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment, devices or products.
  • Sets up and operates production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs specific skills that are needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Must be capable of using measuring equipment as well as different types of bonding adhesives.
  • Partners with s engineering in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures.
  • Ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of function and application of product.
  • Must work with and understand instructions in order to operate all production machinery efficiently and in a safe manner.
  • Plans and lays out work to meet production and schedule requirements.

  • Perform light equipment PM and repair
  • Support value stream continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Analyze and identify trends and resolve root cause for products and processes that represent excessive waste, scrap, labor, re-work or customer returns
  • Must fill out daily reports and/or production logs. Works as a leader and a member of a Team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

 Technical Degree or formal training from accredited school preferred

  • Minimum high school education required
  • Must be able to read and follow manufacturing work instructions and diagrams.
  • Experience in mechanical and/or electro mechanical assemblies preferred
  • Experience in hydraulic assemblies preferred
  • Demonstrated use of hand tools (torque drivers, arbor press, screwdrivers, allen wrenches)
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks independently after being given specific instructions.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical measurement devices is a must.
  • Practical understanding of the general theoretical principles of the field of hydraulics and mechanics.

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Operations | Irvine, California

SUMMARY OF POSITION

As a member of the manufacturing and product development team, the individual works closely with the design engineering, product development and manufacturing teams to meet new product release objectives and to support existing product lines with continuous improvement in mind.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that new products are released on schedule with robust processes and acceptance testing methodologies that achieve cost objectives.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of equipment in the production area.
  • Achieve 3 sigma or better quality performance and support the sales plan with upside potential.
  • Is the manufacturing technical expert to the design and analysis team to ensure manufacturability of product throughout the design and development process and with key supplier partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  •  BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the assembly of electronics, hydraulics, and mechanical products. Medical device experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Project Management with the ability to lead a cross functional team.
  • Experience with process validation, establishing acceptance tests and criteria in association with new product development.
  • Experience developing manufacturing fixtures and tooling
  • Experience with process flow mapping, lean manufacturing, and six sigma.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 environment.
  • Experience in meeting new product cost of goods objectives and life cycle cost improvements.

Inventory Control Specialist

Operations | Irvine, CA

SUMMARY OF POSITION

 

Responsible for shipping/receiving goods and process into inventory following the proper policies and procedures as outlined by the company and ISO guidelines.  Responsible for monitoring and maintaining stockroom inventory.

Coordinate and drive areas of manufacturing to achieve appropriate inventory levels.  Assist the operations team in achieving on time delivery goals. Maintain the inventory in both components and finished goods areas to support corporate goals.   Perform weekly cycle counts.  Candidate responsible for analyzing data and providing management with weekly reports.   Responsible for receiving customer service calls, assessing fulfillment requirements and disseminating orders to achieve fulfillment goals.  Responsible for shipping products to customers including international shipments. Track components through internal tracking system.  Successful candidate will obtain thorough working knowledge of our vast product lines.  Candidate will be cross trained to backfill or support other manufacturing areas of responsibility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Follows Freedom Innovations policies and procedures for the receiving and shipping of goods and services.
  • Responsible for all receiving, shipping and problem resolution of all dock and delivery issues.
  • Input all transactions into GP system.
  • Coordinate and perform cycle counting issues for production areas and will advise management as to the discrepancies and make adjustments to inventory as directed.
  • Will resolve all receiving issues with accounts payable.
  • Will track the counting and notification of orders for general indirect consumable items.
  • Will supervise issuance of critical parts from the stock room.
  • Will act as backup for purchasing of critical materials or supplies in support of manufacturing needs.

This role will provide HR support to the Irvine Corporate location and will be the primary contact for all US benefits administration. SUMMARY OF POSITION

Freedom Innovations LLC is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to facilitate compliance to applicable internal and external requirements during the product development cycle and commercialization of new products.  Collaborate with the R&D and Manufacturing cross functional teams to successfully execute product development process, design transfer and continue the improvement process.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Operations management, Manufacturing, and R&D Engineering organizations to integrate new/improved products or processes into the existing manufacturing site.
  • Develop inspection plans for complex machined and molded components.
  • Participate in failure investigations encountered during the New Product Development and lead investigations for commercial product.
  • Co-write and/or review test protocols for the validation of new/changed equipment, processes, and test methods.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues.
  • Plan and implement projects to reduce manufacturing costs, improve processes, increase product quality and reliability and enhance process capability.
  • Serve as a member of Product Development Teams for Irvine based Projects.
  • Support the gathering of product related Quality Metrics and reports.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering is required.
  • At least 8+ years in regulated industry and Medical Device preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Root Cause Investigation tools (5 Whys, 6M, Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Charts, Contradiction matrix)
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software programs (esp. Solidworks)
  • Working knowledge of DG&T (Geometric Dimensioning, and Tolerancing)
