Sr. Mechanical Engineer

SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic professional for a full time position as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This will support an expanding operation for commercialization of our next generation prosthetic feet, ankles, knees, and legs. Working closely with the entire Freedom Innovations engineering team, he/she will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of lower limb prosthetics. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, experience and leadership in developing complex mechanical solutions for medical devices. They should have a proven track record as a hands-on engineer in a growth company and poses the ability to contribute to the development of products from concept to launch.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and release detailed mechanical designs
• Support product marketing and consult with product manager regarding specifications, schedule, budget
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers including sales, clinical services, medical practitioners, and product users

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Inventory Control Analyst

Manufacturing | Gunnison, Utah

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Maintain the graphite inventory in both graphite components and graphite finished goods areas to support corporate goals. Perform weekly cycle counts. Responsible for analyzing data and providing management with weekly reports. Responsible for receiving customer service calls, assessing fulfillment requirements and disseminating orders to achieve fulfillment goals. Track components through internal tracking system. Successful candidate will obtain thorough working knowledge of our vast product lines. Candidate will be cross trained to backfill or support other manufacturing areas of responsibility.

Human Resources Representative

Human Resources | Irvine, California

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This role will provide HR support to the Irvine Corporate location and will be the primary contact for all US benefits administration. Primary duties will include but are not limited to: benefits administration, LOA’s, onboarding new employees, responding to general HR inquiries, processing voluntary terminations and maintaining personnel records, HR system administration, performance management administration and working with the Director of HR to implement new policies, processes and procedures.

Cost Accountant

Finance | Gunnison, Utah

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for various cost accounting activities for the prosthetic foot and knee manufacturing operation in Gunnison, Utah. Includes tracking of labor time and production volumes, updates of manufacturing bills of materials, analysis of actual vs. plan variances, creation of reports and analyses related to cost and manufacturing performance, and supporting the Plant Controller in other cost accounting and operational activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Under the general supervision of the Plant Controller, performs cost accounting, general accounting, and other related accounting duties.
• Responsible for recording certain cost accounting transactions. Maintains and produces regular cost accounting reports as determined by the Plant Controller.
• Performs accounts payable duties in support of corporate accounts payable function, such as verifying certain invoices for payment, and ensuring expenditures are charged to appropriate accounts.
• Perform monthly general ledger closing activities related to the manufacturing operation, including the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, account analysis and reconciliation, and setting up new general ledger accounts as directed by the Plant Controller.
• Interfaces with outside computer service for accounting and management data and supports modifications/enhancements to computerized systems.
• Support corporate accounting in maintaining accounting records for fixed assets.
• Assists outside auditors at year-end, including preparing schedules, providing explanation of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
• Recommends, designs, and implements any necessary department controls as approved by the Plant Controller.
• Back-up the preparation of monthly financial statements to include preparation of monthly balance sheet, income statement, and report on changes in financial position/budget variances. May also prepare monthly inventory evaluations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, or equivalent course work
• Three (3) to five (5) years of related cost accounting and general accounting experience.
• Experience with Great Plains manufacturing and accounting software required.

Sr. Quality Engineer

Quality Assurance | Irvine, CA

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Freedom Innovations LLC is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to facilitate compliance to applicable internal and external requirements during the product development cycle and commercialization of new products.  Collaborate with the R&D and Manufacturing cross functional teams to successfully execute product development process, design transfer and continue the improvement process.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Operations management, Manufacturing, and R&D Engineering organizations to integrate new/improved products or processes into the existing manufacturing site.
  • Develop inspection plans for complex machined and molded components.
  • Participate in failure investigations encountered during the New Product Development and lead investigations for commercial product.
  • Co-write and/or review test protocols for the validation of new/changed equipment, processes, and test methods.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues.
  • Plan and implement projects to reduce manufacturing costs, improve processes, increase product quality and reliability and enhance process capability.
  • Serve as a member of Product Development Teams for Irvine based Projects.
  • Support the gathering of product related Quality Metrics and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering is required.
  • At least 8+ years in regulated industry and Medical Device preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Root Cause Investigation tools (5 Whys, 6M, Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Charts, Contradiction matrix)
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software programs (esp. Solidworks)
  • Working knowledge of DG&T (Geometric Dimensioning, and Tolerancing)
  • Proficient in Windows-based software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Working knowledge of GMP/QSR, ISO, Medical Device Directive, and other applicable regulations is expected.
