1. Tell me more about the FS1000.
The FS 1000 is ideal for the new, lower-limb amputee. It is unique for its "angle-top" design that creates a smoother gait without the energy loss typically associated with shock-absorbing and lower response systems. Compared to its competitors, the product also provides higher energy storage capacity for a given volume by utilizing a longer foot member.

2. What makes you different from the competition?
Each foot in the Freedom Series is designed with four key elements :
  • A "low-stress construction" in which the sole plate and upper member are wrapped together, eliminating the stress concentrations associated with bolt holes.
  • The upper member is longer than other competitive products, resulting in higher energy storage capacity compared to similar sizes.
  • The composite process design creates a "softer toe," eliminating "dead spots" and resulting in smoother transitions throughout the gait cycle for the moderate-activity amputee.
  • "Factory-direct" pricing to insure that prosthetists can now obtain top quality products, without paying top-dollar prices.

3. What is Freedom Innovations, Inc.?
Freedom Innovations was founded in 2002 by a trio of experts with nearly 30 years each of combined experience in the medical device manufacturing industry and related areas of business. Our vision for the company is to create the best and most affordable prostheses and accompanying components for lower-limb amputees who want and need a quick and easy return to normal activity following surgery. We believe the market needs an alternative to current offerings - products that are easier to wear for the patients, easier to obtain and fit for the prosthetists, and provide competitive pricing to offset rising costs seen in the prosthetics business.

4. Tell me more about the FS2000.
This low-profile foot is designed for situations demanding greater clearance. Featuring a very low finish height to maximize prosthetic configuration options, the FS 2000 is lightweight, durable, suited to all activity levels, and easy to fit and finish cosmetically.

5. Tell me more about the FS 3000.
The FS 3000 is designed for low- to moderately-active amputees with long residual limbs. It also can be used by transfemoral amputees who have a clearance issue secondary to their knee frame and exoskeletal prosthesis.

7. How are your products tested?
As part of our ISO 9000 quality system, each of our products is required to pass a rigid battery of physical and performance tests, including ISO 10328. In addition, patient evaluations are routinely performed on each of our products to insure more of the subjective criteria (the "feel of the product," the overall customer satisfaction with the product, etc.) that are assured prior to releasing our designs. With more than 17 years of design experience in prosthetics, our designers are no strangers to what will meet objective (performance) specifications, as well as subjective ("feel") requirements. However, we leave nothing to chance. Therefore, we thoroughly evaluate all of our products.

8. What is the product warranty?
FS1000, FS2000, FS3000, LP Symes, renegade, Runway, & Silhouette foot modules are under warranty for 36 months from the original invoice date. Defender foot modules and Runway ankle mechanisms are under warranty for 18 months from the original invoice date. All Foot Covers and Parydonn Liners are under warranty for 6 months from the original invoice date. All componentry are under warranty for 24 months from the original invoice date.

9. How do you measure the clearance required for a Freedom prosthetic foot?

Freedom quotes clearance requirements based on a measurement taken from the ground (carbon foot in the foot shell) up to the top on the dome of the pyramid where the tube clamp would couple with the pyramid.  For the Silhouette Prosthetic Foot it would be the same: from the ground (carbon foot in the foot shell) up to where the tube clamp would connect to the dome of the male pyramid.  Don’t forget to include the space required for liners, lamination and shuttle lock if applicable.
To review specific clearance requirements, by product and size, refer to page two of the Freedom Product Order Form.
