FREEDOM INNOVATIONS NAMES COLLIER AS VICE PRESIDENT OF CLINICAL SERVICES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Irvine, Calif. (March 23, 2008) - Maynard Carkhuff, President and Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Innovations LLC, announced the appointment of Kurt Collier as the company's Vice President of Clinical Services and Business Development. Collier will direct Freedom Innovations' clinical services initiatives, which include supervision of the company's worldwide educational program as well as new product trials and evaluations. Additionally, Collier will contribute to the clinical development of the sales and customer service teams.

Collier's tenure in the prosthetics industry includes over fifteen years working with a wide variety of devices and all levels of amputation. Prior to joining Freedom Innovations as the Director of Clinical Services in 2004, he served as the Director of Prosthetic Services for the Orthotic Prosthetic Center (OPC) in Arlington, Virginia. At OPC, Collier was involved with designing and fitting devices, as well as lectures and seminars. Previous to that assignment, Collier was the Director of Technical Services for Ossur/Flex-Foot in Aliso Viejo, California where he developed the product evaluation and release processes used by a large international staff.
Collier's past accomplishments include several personal and professional designations, including his roles as Chairman of the Amputee Coalition of America, a board member of Disabled Sports USA, and Founder and Director of Professionals Helping Amputees Train. Collier was also awarded bronze medals for the Pentathlon and 4x100 relay in the 1996 Paralympics. He successfully produced the first and second International Conference of Advanced Prosthetics, a multi-disciplined conference attended by 300-500 industry professionals from around the world.
Collier is an American Board Certified (ABC) Prosthetist. He graduated from the Northwestern Prosthetic Program and also holds a B.S. degree in Biology from James Madison University. He resides in Haymarket, Virginia.
