| Former Ossur CEO Carkhuff Takes the Reins of Freedom Innovations |

IRVINE, Calif. (March 07, 2005) -
Former Ossur CEO Carkhuff Takes the Reins of Freedom Innovations;
Myers Named President of Freedom Science & Technologies
Irvine, Calif. (MARCH 7, 2005) -- Roland Christensen, Chairman, Freedom Innovations, announced today that Maynard Carkhuff, formerly President and CEO for Ossur Prosthetics, has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of the Irvine-based prosthetic manufacturer, effective April 1, 2005. Richard Myers, Freedom's President and COO, who co-founded the company with Christensen, has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Freedom Science & Technologies, a newly formed research and development company and part of the Freedom family of companies. Carkhuff will oversee the marketing of the complete line of prosthetic systems for Freedom Innovations, and Myers will oversee the development of innovative new technologies in prosthetics and orthotics. Myers remains on the board of directors for Freedom Innovations.
According to Christensen, "We are privileged to have an experienced executive such as Maynard Carkhuff join Freedom Innovations. Successful sales growth in prosthetics has afforded us the opportunity to expand our executive team. Maynard now leads the Freedom Innovations team, while Dick will oversee the Freedom Science and Technology group in the development of new prosthetic and orthotic technologies currently outside of Freedom Innovations' scope. Maynard brings to Freedom the successful leadership experience in growing technology companies in several medical device industries, including -- most notably -- prosthetics. His experience, combined with Dick's innovative research and development expertise, will keep us at the forefront of our industry," he said.
Carkhuff has served as a senior corporate executive in the pharmaceutical, dental and prosthetic healthcare markets for three decades. Formerly President and CEO of Ossur Prosthetics, he had earlier served as President and COO of Flex-Foot, Inc., which was sold to Ossur in April 2000. He has also held positions as Vice President of Denar Corporation, a dental manufacturer, and Director of Marketing for the Dermatology Division of Allergan Pharmaceuticals. Carkhuff is currently on the Board of Directors of two private companies, Clean Ones Corporation and Patent Ratings LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, Management and Research from California State University, Los Angeles, and he attended the University of Southern California's Graduate School of Business Administration. He is active in non-profit organizational leadership, including the Life Science Industry Council; President, Association for Corporate Growth--Orange County Chapter; Vice Chair, Finance, YMCA of Orange County; and the Orange County Sheriff's Advisory Council.
