Freedom launches new symes solution

IRVINE, Calif. (June 14, 2005) -

Freedom Innovations announces the market release of its newest prosthetic solution, the LP SymesT. With clearances under two inches, the LP Symes accommodates the build height requirements of amputees with Symes amputations, while providing superior energy storage-and-return and a smooth and natural rollover. The LP SymesT is the ideal component for K3 and K4 level Symes amputees seeking a robust energy storage-and-return prosthetic foot component capable of performing at high levels.

"Symes amputees apply extreme forces to their prostheses. The LP Symes was designed to stand up to those forces, providing amputees and prosthetists with a high performance component that they can trust." Stated Kurt Collier, C.P., Director of Clinical Education for Freedom Innovations. "Clinical field testing proved the component to be a lightweight and highly responsive Symes solution."

The product incorporates a direct lamination cup, which keeps the distal mass as light as possible, reducing amputee energy expenditures during the gait cycle. And enhanced material tie-in groove located on the direct lamination cup has been enlarged to improve the ease of socket connection and lamination.

Manufactured using carbon graphite material, the LP Symes is lightweight (average 295g) and extremely durable. The component is designed for amputees weighing up to 365 pounds and is available in sizes 22-30 centimeters. Nine stiffness categories are offered to provide amputees with customized function. The LP Symes is sold with a 60 Day Satisfaction Guaranty and a thirty-six month warranty.
