Maynard Carkhuff, President and Chief Operating Officer of Freedom Innovations, announced today that Steve Sherman has joined the leading Irvine-based prosthetic supplier as Key Account Manager, effective July 18, 2005. Sherman will support and cultivate key customer relationships while promoting Freedom's product line of prosthetic components. Sherman brings experience from both the supplier and patient care sides of the industry and will help the company better tailor its sales efforts to meet the needs of customers.

His extensive experience within prosthetic manufacturing and patient care has provided him with an intimate knowledge of the needs of our industry." Carkhuff said. With almost twenty years of sales experience and more than a decade in the prosthetic industry, Sherman most recently served as the Prosthetic Marketing Coordinator for Wright & Filippis, Inc., a leader in the rehabilitative health care field. Here he was responsible for developing marketing strategies and programs for the provider. Sherman was instrumental in creating AmpuTeam, a support-based program designed to provide amputees opportunities to learn the skills necessary to achieve their individual functional goals. Prior to Wright & Filippis, Sherman was a Sales Manager for Ossur North America where his duties included sales and marketing to Orthotic & Prosthetic facilities in the United States and Canada.

From 1996 to 1998 Sherman was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for CAPOD Systems, Inc., which focused on the laser scanning, modeling, and production of orthoses and prostheses. Before joining CAPOD Systems he worked at Seattle Limb Systems as their Central Region Sales Manager. Between 1987 - 1994 Sherman was employed with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and Advanced Rehabilitative Technologies respectively as a sales representative.

Sherman earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Michigan State University and currently resides in South Lyon, Michigan with wife, Jody, and daughters, Sarah, Hannah, & Marla.
