Freedom innovations announces shift in the world of prosthetic liners
ParydonnT Liner Offers Incomparable Hygiene and Ease of Use

IRVINE, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2005) -

Freedom Innovations announced today that it has once again set industry standards with the debut of its revolutionary ParydonnT Prosthetic Liner. The pre-fabricated silicone socket interface meets hygiene, durability, and ease of use requirements not currently being satisfied in the market place. The product's core benefits relate to the innovative use of Parylene Coating, a silky-smooth material used widely in the implantable medical device and catheter industry, now patent pending to Freedom Innovations for prosthetic use.

The smooth Parylene coating replaces the need for undesirable fabric covers, while also resolving donning and doffing issues for amputees with dexterity issues, hygiene and odor problems, as well as ease of use requirements for both the wearer and the prosthetist. The liner is hydrophobic, easy to wash, dry, and wear, and does not fray when trimmed.

Because Parylene is bonded to the silicone substrate on a molecular level, it's more than a simple coating. It actually becomes part of the silicone surface and produces a pin-hole-free, cloth-free, hydrophobic barrier that will not peel, crack, chip, or wear off. It's truly a permanent surface on the liner. And it makes life a great deal easier for both the prosthetist and the amputee.

"The Parydonn Liner is the result of innovative thinking towards a product category that has not been significantly improved in several years," said Kurt Collier, C.P., and Freedom Innovations Director of Clinical Services. "This liner surpasses current industry standards for hygiene, and due to its smooth finish it is easier to use than any other product I have worn myself or provided my patients."

Additional product advantages can be attributed to the platinum-cured silicone used to manufacture the liner. This material makes the liner extremely durable by providing excellent tensile strength and a high degree of memory, preventing tears and loss of shape. Two embedded matrix layers maximize comfort and improve performance. A tighter, stronger matrix in the distal section reduces pistoning and increases durability. A more flexible matrix throughout the length of liner makes it easy to manipulate and enhances durability.

The ParydonnT Prosthetic Liner is available in a 3mm profile, with or without a locking mechanism. Eight sizes will fit most transtibial amputees. The product is offered with a six-month warranty and unopened products may be returned within 30 days.
