Patient Russell Gardner Senator

Greetings from Australia! It has been nearly 4 weeks since meeting you at Brisbane's Goodwill Orthopaedics with David Sweet. From the moment I tried the new [Senator Prosthetic Foot] I was amazed at the difference it made, particularly when I had to go back to my old one. Since having the new Senator foot expertly fitted by David, it has opened up a new level of activity for me. It has enabled me to perform the things I enjoy like riding my bike, roller skating and actually jog!! It has certainly made my life more enjoyable and made performing every task much easier for me.

Thank you for the opportunity to use this wonderful piece of engineering and making life more "normal" for hundreds of others around the world.

Kindest Regards,
Russell Gardner, Amputee User

Patient Amy Dodson Silhouette
I have been walking on my Silhouette foot for a week now and I love it!

First: The lightness of it is terrific. I feel like it is a part of me. There is no 'drop' when I lift my foot.

Second: The 'ride' from heel strike to push off is incredibly smooth. It is the smoothest foot I have ever tried.

Third: The toe push off is so natural. There is no sinking feeling at all!

Fourth: I actually feel energy coming from the foot -- throughout the entire stride. How did the engineers do this?

This is an amazing foot. I absolutely love it and am wearing it everyday. Thank you so much!

Patient Monica Prestridge Runway

“I lost my left leg below the knee at the age of 4 after falling under a riding lawn mower.  I was fitted with my first prosthesis 6 months later, and have worn a prosthesis ever since.  I've seen many changes in the technology of prosthetics over the past 30 years, but have never been more excited than I am with my new Runway Foot.  The ability to wear sandals, flip-flops, cowboy boots (I got my first pair for Christmas this year!), and heels is a dream come true.  The day that my prosthetist put the Runway Foot on me, I went out and bought 8 pairs of shoes!!  I cannot tell you how liberating it was to be able to try on "pretty shoes" and not be limited to ugly flats and sneakers.  It was a new world for me, and a day I'll never forget.  I've always been a girly-girl, wanting to feel and look pretty, but have gained a whole new confidence level with my Runway Foot that I have never known before!  I absolutely LOVE it!  My prosthetist gave me the opportunity to a competitive foot, but I didn't care for it.  It did not wear nearly as well as the Runway.”

Signed,
Monica Prestridge

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to you regarding the Freedom Foot and would like to compliment you on your exceptional product. Your feet appear to be designed to fit a wide population of patients, which is a plus to the prosthetic practitioner and to the patient as well. The exceptionally smooth roll over of your foot translates to less floor reaction against the residual limb, which helps to make my fitting experience much easier and faster.

Your sales staff and customer service department have been most pleasant to work with and have always responded in a timely manner to any questions or requests that I have had.

It is my opinion that Freedom Innovations has a truly bright future and I wish you continued success.

Thank your for listening to the practitioners in your designs.

Sincerely,

David Littig, CP

Dear Freedom Innovations,

I want to thank you for designing such incredible prosthetic feet. I am a below the knee amputee, and am very active as a runner and triathlete. I use the Freedom Sprinter Foot for running and the Renegade foot for biking and everyday use.

The Sprinter Foot is INCREDIBLE. I have run on it for just a few months, but have already bettered my times significantly. My 5k race times have dropped with each subsequent race -- my most recent race I ran a 22:28. My half marathon race time has dropped by 8 minutes!! I can't wait to race a marathon on this foot!

I know my improvements are because of this new Freedom running foot. The dynamics, the comfortability, and the trust I have in the foot have helped me to train longer and run faster. With the Freedom Sprinter Foot, I can concentrate on running and not worry about whether my prosthesis can perform to the level I demand.

The Renegade Foot is also a wonder! From the moment I first put it on, I have been thrilled with its performance. It is incredibly comfortable, very dynamic, and it can keep up with my active lifestyle. As an athlete and a teacher, I am always on the go. I don't have time to worry about a prosthesis and whether it can function in the many different ways my lifestyle demands. The Renegade provides everything I need, including peace of mind. If I need to dash across my classroom to help a student, or run with my bike through a triathlon transition area, or ride that bike 50 to 100 miles, I can do it with the Renegade.

Thank you for caring about amputees' desires to live fulfilling lives. I am not only meeting but far surpassing my athletic goals because of your wonderful products.

Sincerely,

Amy Dodson

Dear Shahr Lopatin

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I have been using the Freedom FS3000 prosthetic foot you provided to me and have been extremely pleased with its performance. It has made walking easier and more comfortable. Right out of the box it was great. No adjustments, No
modifications needed. No worries about maintenance. Up and down ramps and stairs it was great. On uneven ground and over grass it was great. Itallowed me to walk both fast and slow with a toe lever that was just right.

As you know, I am a very active amputee and between working full time and caring for my young son, I spend 15-18 hours per day wearing my prosthesis. I need the best fitting and functioning prosthesis possible. Thanks in part to you and Freedom Innovations, I have achieved this goal.

Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to use the FS3000. This foot has helped me better complete my activities of daily living and has greatly improved my overall prosthetic performance. Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Patient Becki Walters The Revolution Series
I am so pleased with my new Freedom Renegade foot. I have been an amputee since 1978 ,and have used many types of artificial feet. Most recently I had the Flex Foot. The difference was significantly better from the first step! For the first time I feel a bounce when I walk. I also love the way it absorbs my weight on heel strike. I am a very active amputee, with a short stump, I need a foot that can give me energy return with each step. Thank you so much for giving me a product that gives a lift with each stride.

Sincerely,

Patient Niki Lea Williams The Revolution Series
Hi my name is Niki, 21 yrs old, BRK since June 2002.

Since receiving the Renegade Shock Foot, i am able to do pretty much anything without a leg change! (which is very convenient for me)

It has had a huge impact on my physical lifestyle, which i once thought i may have lost. Once again i am able to join in on unexpected activities, such as a walk down the beach and maybe a swim, an afternoon out on a boat, (I live on the waterfront, watersports is one of our main activities) a walk in the bush, to even a quick game of touch footy. All this without having to change my leg!
Its great because i have never been the one to miss out on anything!!!

(This Winter i am hoping to learn how to snow board, also i am hoping to master surfing and wake boarding by next summer!)

People are amazed when i walk or run, and then find i am an amputee, mainly because the Renegade brings back the smooth natural motion of the foot in these activities (plus more). It means i walk with no limp or stiffness in the movement of the leg.

Also physically i am fitter, because there is no need for me to sit out, stop or change my usual activities.
Hills are no longer a challenge, i can climb them with ease, and best of all i can take the Renegade into the water with easy maintenance afterwards!!

Cant wait to fill you in on the RS-2000 Runaway! I am thinking it could maybe be the solution to getting the right angle on the foot for single water skiing?

Once again THANKYOU for giving me this opportunity...

Luv

I have been testing the freedom-foot on a few osseopatients and I saw Ronney sent you the aspects one patient had on Renegade. I also tried FS-3000 on a patient with trans tibial osseointegration, he have had some problems earlier with very stiff feets when the buildning-height have been rather small (low) for prosthetic-components and attachment device. When i tried the FS-3000 he was very happy, with a much bigger softness and shock absorbing function. The patient did not feel any pain at all in toe-off, that have been a problem earlier and he now walked with no aid and no pain. When I needed the prosthesis for locktite and cosmetic he did not what to take it of, so I kind of have to take the prosthesis of the patient to make it ready the same day. I was very nice to meet such a happy patient and I promised him to send you a mail.

PS today American public television PBS send a program with an interview with dr Rickar Brånemark regarding prosthetic rehabilitaion with osseointegration at 9 pm.

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know what great results I have been having with the Freedom line.

Every amputee that I have fit with a Freedom foot has raved about how natural it feels to walk on, especially the Renegade.

What was a real surprise for me was how much energy return I personally got out of the 3000 model, that I use for golf, with a rotator. Really nice!

My personal every day preference is the Renegade of which I have two. One is finished and one unfinished for outdoor activities on my farm and hunting. The energy return and shock features are great.

I guess I have used about 40 or so by now in my practice and I am getting a real bang for my buck and my amputees love them.

Thanks Freedom and keep up the good work.

Hi Shahr,

Just dropping you line in regards to the new foot that you gave me when you came over to Australia about a month ago. The foot has been working overtime if you know what I mean. There is so much more movement, reliability and freedom in what activities I can participate in. I am thinking of playing a game of Australian Rules Football again (the sport I used to play before I lost my leg). I am also in the Volunteer Rural Bushfire Brigade, and the amazing things this foot can do has helped me greatly with the kind of work we do in rough country. Having the foot has changed my life and having it given to me free of charge is something I could never be able to thank you enough. In closing I would just like to say keep up the good work and hope all goes well for the future.

Yours sincerely,
Darren Skuse

Dear Mr. Myers,

I am writing to express my feelings about my new and innovative foot! After walking on a SACH foot for forty years, I cannot believe the difference your product has made my gait. With your foot, I feel as though I am gliding along when I walk. The motion of walking is much smoother and I receive feedback from the entire foot. I have never received information from my heel when I walked until now! In addition, there is no jarring when I set my heel on the ground as I walk. Because of all these elements, I felt more secure on this foot in the first five minutes than I have felt since my leg was amputated.

Because of the flexibility and freedom of motion that this foot offers, my husband commented that it looks much more natural when I am walking than my old foot did. He was particularly impressed with the realistic motion of the ankle as I move.

I am especially happy that this foot allows me the opportunity to use a hydraulic knee, which has allowed me to descend stairs on foot in front of the other for the first time in forty years. I cannot tell you what it felt like to experience that long-forgotten motion again (a motion I have not felt since I was seven years old); but I can tell you that it meant a great deal to me. Though I am getting older, your technology has allowed me to be less disabled now than I have ever been. That is a tremendous feeling.

If you keep innovating this way, I may just realize the dream of my youth and become a bionic woman! At forty-seven years old, your foot has definitely allowed me to dream that I may one day be able to run again. I am sincerely grateful to you for your product. It has reawakened the spark of possibility for me. Walt Disney, whose animatronics used to fascinate me, once said, "If you can dream it, you can do it." Well, I am definitely dreaming.

Thank you,

Mrs. Marion Dawirs

Shahr,

Thank you for the opportunity to try your new Renegade foot from Freedom Innovations. I have never publicly endorsed a product before but this foot deserves high praise. I am a Prosthetist and have been a below knee amputee for nearly twenty years. I have worn a dozen feet over the years including all the high tech feet available and have not been able to run since my accident in 1983. I tried your foot and with in five minutes I was able to run at a full sprint, as you were all witness to, it was fantastic. I went from a K3 to a K4 in one day. I was never able to run with my kids or go out running with my wife and now that all seems possible. I was also able to walk at slow speed with a very comfortable easy roll over, going down stairs was stable and smooth, and inclines were not a problem. I do not know how you incorporate all these features in one foot but it was great, how do I get one?
Thank you,

John Pelletti, CP

Patient Casey Pieretti renegade/'reni-gad
Dear Mr Myers,

After having used the Freedom Innovations Renegade prosthetic foot for the past few weeks I think it is the next step in lower limb mobility. This foot walks more naturally and more smoothly then any other foot I have worn. Whether walking uphill, downhill or on flat surfaces I feel the foot has tremendous response. My walking has improved due to the natural ankle motion of the foot. With the heel spring helping to push me over the toe, I use less energy for every day walking. Another upside to the foot is as my activity increases the responsiveness of the foot also increases. I find that when I am running the foot performs better as I run faster. The shock absorption of the foot is incredible for running and hiking. What amazes me is that all of this versatility is found in a very lightweight prosthetic foot.

Thank you,

Casey Pieretti

To Freedom Innovations:

I would like to take the opportunity to complement your excellent products. I am a Certified Prosthetist, and have fit a wide variety of feet for all levels of amputees, but your feet have set new standards in terms of ease of ambulation and patient comfort.

Like most in this field, I am typically skeptical of any new product, preferring to see real results in action, rather than believe rosy promises from advertising. In this case, however, your feet have exceeded my expectations.

In the past 6 months I have fit five of your feet on one bilateral AK/BK patient, and 3 unilateral BK patients. Each patient found the feet to be light and springy, easy enough for slow walking, and yet with plenty of increased resistance for more aggressive strides or jogging. I am currently in the process of fitting two unilateral BK patients with your Renegade foot, and I have complete confidence that these patients (both very active) will find the foot meeting all of their needs and more.

I look forward to continued clinical successes with your feet.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Hung, CP

...Back to the renegade foot...really unbelieveable. I think if I had an old sach foot, then a flex foot, I would love the flex foot. But I had a flex foot first...it was good...I was able to do my early walking on it, get the hang of things...but then I was given this renegade foot and feel like I moved up a notch. Someone said it was like walking on a mattress....true, but I LIKE that....that I get to control it side to side, back and forth. I really tell the most difference on slopes and stairs. It *gives* more when I have to bend the ankle. So that is my analysis, for anyone who cares!

Dear Freedom Innovations

As a Certified Prosthetist, I have fit and used many different types of energy storing prosthetic feet over the last eight years. During this time, I have seen many new feet come onto the market some with wonderful benefits for the prosthetic user and some without.

I have been using the Freedom Innovations feet for the past few months on selected patients and have found the results to be great. The patients I have fit with the Freedom feet have reported many benefits such as smooth heel-toe transition and easy ramp ascent/decent. The main thing these patients seemed to notice was that the toe resistance comfortably increased as their walking speed increased. One amputee commented, "It feels like the foot is directly adjusting to my walking speed and I like it".

My goal as a prosthetist is to provide my patients with a prosthesis that fits and functions well. Freedom has helped me accomplish this task and contributed to a better quality of life for many amputees. Thank you Freedom Innovations.

Sincerely,

Matthew Baughman, C.P.

Dear Shahr,

It is my pleasure a this time to inform you of the added freedom of movement and additional capabilities I have been able to experience with the FS 1000 setup as you recommended. As you know I drive coast to coast in a big rig, and will often be required to drive long distances, and then supervise the loading or unloading of the cargo on my truck. It is now possible to stay on the dock area during the entire process, and not have the fatigue or muscle spasms from prior devices. It is much easier to climb into and out of the trailer and accomplish those duties expected of the driver. I also have much better control and contact with the clutch while driving my truck. Thank you very much for this great help to me in my job.

Hi Shahr!

Just a note to let you know how happy I am with my new leg and Freedom foot! You remember when I tried a Flex Foot and it felt like I had a two by four for a foot? I can't believe how comfortable walking is on my new foot. The action and energy storing/return are fantastic, yet it's every bit as smooth as a Seattle. I was skeptical at first, but you were right. Thanks so much for leading this old horse to the water! I'll keep you posted on how it does when I start the sailing season. I can't wait!

Take care,

Hello,

I have recently purchased one of your feet (FS3000) for one of my most challenging patients. I have had problems with nearly all major brands before the FS3000 and I am glad to say it passed with the patient's seal of approval. I have not seen a foot with such action and energy return in years. You guys are on to something. I almost feel sorry for OSSUR. Keep up the good work and you will definitely have a new loyal customer in me.

To Whom It May Concern,

This letter is written to express our feelings about the new prosthetic feet that have been developed by Freedom Innovations.

We have tried the feet on our patients and the consensus is they are better than what the patient was wearing. The energy storage foot feels softer, but with a firm motion that results in a smoother rollover that makes walking easier.

As an amputee myself I have tried about every foot on the market and I find the FS 1000 to be the best. It is very light in weight and has no maintenance. The shape is cosmetically pleasing and allows an easier donning of a shoe.

From the resulting comments of patients who have tried the feet, and my own experience, I recommend that you try this new exciting product. I look forward to matching the style of foot, to the patient, who ultimately benefits the most.

Sincerely,

Clearence D. Imler C.P.

Dear Shahr,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try out the Freedom FS1000. When I first walked on it I was amazed by how much smoother the transition was from the mid-stance to toe off position. I had never really noticed the "dead spot" in my previous feet but, after waling on the FS1000, it made the others feel like they were nailed to the floor. With the aid of the heel bumpers, I found it gave me a smoother and more natural gait for both running and walking, and the narrower cosmesis ensures I don't have to struggle with my shoes too!

Thanks for everything,

Dear Shahr,

I'm writing to give you a report on our experience with the FREEDOM SERIES Prosthetic Feet. Upon returning from san Diego, I immediately allowed the first patient I saw to walk test the FREEDOM FS1000 dynamic response Prosthetic Foot. He was instantly impressed and following bio mechanical alignment refinement, he was even more impressed.

His activity is varied from his work which involves moderate amounts of walking on flat floors in an office building, to activities involving training and breeding show dogs, he is also a judge in many of the national competitions and he must be able to be on his feet 9-14 hours per day walking on grass, gravel, bending, squatting, walking backwards, sideways, twisting, and often in the water - he breeds Portuguese Water Dogs. He lives in the North country of Michigan and is very active in hunting and trapping. He walks miles in the wooded country. He has tested the FREEDOM feet and states that it is the most natural walking, dynamically responsive, comfortable foot he has tested to date (over 15 years he has tested about 24 feet - all of the popular ones known today). He has had the foot for about four months now and feels that there is also a vertical shock absorbing characteristic that has relieved the pain in his knee.

There are many more patients who have had similar experiences with the FREEDOM Series Feet. My plan is to document a few of them on video and send it to you so you can hear and see it directly from the amputee. Yours in Health & Prosthetics,

Jan Stokosa, C.P.

Dear Shahr:

My philosophy here at Hemet Prosthetic & Orthotic Group has been to strive for providing "state of the art" products and service within our scope of practice. All of us here are constantly searching for better ways to help those who require our services. I thought you might like to hear about my experiences with the Freedom Innovations feet we've fit thus far.

I've fit several FS 1000, FS 2000, and three Renegade feet over the past few months. All of my patients were exceptionally pleased with the function and light weight properties of their new Freedom Innovations feet.

I recently provided a bilateral 40+ aged lady with a pair of the FS 1000 feet and she is extremely pleased with them. She can't believe how much better she's walking with her new feet. She also expressed how light they feel, and how much her balance has improved.

As a side note, I had purchased both the Freedom Innovations FS 1000 feet for this patient and the Variflex product from Ossur/Flex Foot. I ran my own side by side test and found the Freedom Innovations FS 1000 to be a superior product. The Freedom Innovations feet were also lighter in weight before and after finishing with all the components included.

My most recent patient on the new Renegade foot is also amazed with the feel and light weight properties of the foot. He has had both the Ohio Willow Wood "Pathfinder" and the Ossur/Flex Foot "Ceterus". He prefers the "Pathfinder" to the "Ceterus". However, after trying the "Renegade" he too can't believe how light weight it is, and how good he feels when he walks.

Lastly, anther one of my patient's who has warn the Flex Foot VSP (which was provided by you about six years ago) is also in amazement with his new Freedom Innovations' "Renegade" foot. He is thrilled with the weight difference and we both believe the product will solve much of his pistoning problems and the distal "pulling" sensation he gets from the heavy VSP.

From an experienced prosthetist's point of view, these new feet have an edge over the competition. The patient's like them, they're functional, they're light, they're cosmetically appealing; they're easy to work with and finish; and the are priced better for either profitability, or for passing that benefit along to patients who might otherwise have a difficult time with the high cost of care. Everyone seems to come out ahead with these products. I strongly recommend the company. Keep up the good work!

Sincerely,

Freedom Innovations,

I would like to thank you for your part in helping to raise awareness for amputees and all disabled that to be so should not be a deterrent to chase dreams of participating in sports.

My partner and I just completed a 48 state awareness tour (better known as the odyssey golf tour). We played golf in all 48 continental states. We were gone for 5 and 1/2 months and played 178 rounds of golf and conducted first tee clinics.

I had just received a new prosthetic from Sunny Hills with your Freedom foot weeks before starting the trip. I can't begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed the exceptional performance and stability that your foot has provided for me. I have been an amputee for 34 years and have used many different types of feet with varied results but your foot has provided me with that extra performance and confidence that I have been looking for, thank you.

Dear Freedom Innovations,

Paul Spenser is a 55-year-old congenital amputee (paraxial hemimelia fibula). He was revised at 10 years old to a Transtibial amputee. He also had a varus correction osteotomy at 13 years old. He is well known in the Prosthetic & Orthotic field. His background is P&O assistant/technician and an aircraft pattern/tool maker. He is currently wearing a PTB supracondylar suction socket with the Renegade category 6 foot.

Mr. Spencer is a very active individual. He is on his feet 16 hours a day, starting at 4:00am working out at the gym before going to work. He is employed by Maramed Orthopedic Systems supervising custom and tooling production. Patient states "the Renegade is an excellent foot". He can actually run, which he has not been able to do since 1987. He wore a FlexFoot Airflex from 1987 to present. He broke every one except a category 9, which he stated "was like walking on a rock". He states "one of the good things about the Renegade is the changing of heel heights from sneakers to dress shoes. The Renegade foot actually compensates for the difference in the heel height, which really makes it nice. Its a very smooth foot." We fit the foot to an existing socket 8 weeks ago and he hasn't taken it off since. He had to force himself to use it because the Airflex he was using fractured. His back pain was eliminated.

Over all Paul is impressed with the foot. We have six of the Renegade feet with excellent success. Keep up all of the good design work.

Best regards,

Alan R. Finnieston, CPO, LPO

Practitoner William Conklin, CPO The Revolution Series
Dear Freedom Innovations,

Here is a letter long overdue. You generously donated a new Freedom "Renegade" foot to me back in November, which was used with my newly fitted Harmony suction socket BK prosthesis. I used the Renegade with this new prosthesis for about two weeks and due to loss of suction problems with the Harmony System, I was forced to go back to my old leg. This was a big disappointment, which was probably why it took me such a long time to try the Renegade foot again.

About 3 weeks ago, the Seattle Lite foot on my old prosthesis finally gave up the ghost and I was faced with replacing the foot. I had been waiting to use the Renegade foot with a new suction socket prosthesis, which had not been started as yet. As it turns out this was a big mistake waiting for a new prosthesis to use the Renegade foot. I replaced the broken down Seattle Lite foot with the Renegade foot and have been wearing it on my old prosthesis for the past 3 weeks. I am now kicking myself for even waiting a day!

The first word that comes to mind regarding my new Renegade is "turbocharged". Forget stored energy for a minute and think increased horsepower. That's what Renegade has done for me. It took an old prosthesis with a tired old 4-cylinder engine and instantly upgraded it to a turbocharged V-8! Although I still have plans to upgrade to a suction socket, I am enjoying an enhanced lively gait with my current prosthesis that is truly remarkable. Waht a difference having such an energetic spring action in the Renegade foot when bounding up a set of stairs for example.

This "turbocharged" foot from Freedom has given me function that I have never before had as an amputee even with other so-called energy storing feet. As a 50-year old BK amputee, I can run effortlessly and smoothly. Most BK amputees would never even think about hopping on one foot with their prosthesis. The Renegade foot allows me to do this and so much more because of the innovative performance features that are designed into the Freedom prosthetic feet.

I'm not quite sure how I can adequately thank you for offering such an awesome prosthetic foot design that will surely improve the quality of life for thousands of lower limb amputees. Hopefully this letter will be a first step in showing you my immense appreciation. I look forward to the many other innovative products from Freedom Innovations that will change the way in which amputees lead their lives.

Sincerely,
William Conklin, CPO

Dear Freedom Innovations,

Thank you very much for introducing the Freedom line of feet to our practice. The initial response from patients has been fantastic.

I have even tried one personally and found the Renegade model to be unique and very responsive to my activity level especially going up stairs and hills.

There are two words I've found to best describe the Renegade foot, "It's Alive."

I will continue to recommend the Freedom Feet to my patients both young and old.

Dear Freedom Innovations,

I have been an above knee amputee since age 3. I had to opportunity to compete in the Paralympics in 1988 and 1992 from the Pentathalon to swimming. During this time I was very blessed with component trials from various manufacturers.

I am now working as a Certified Prosthetist caring for amputees. I would like to thank you for the positive experience walking on the FS-1000. It felt as though I was walking on padded carpet, no dead spot, and responsive at toe off. I also have a patient using the Runway, adjustable heel height ankle, and her immediate feedback was "its so smooooth".

Take care,
