Associate Quality Engineer

Quality | Irvine

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The person will provide Quality Engineering support for the product development teams, manufacturing operations, and complaints processing at the Irvine, CA site. This person will serve as a member of Product Development Teams for Irvine based Projects. This person will also investigate product non-conformances, implement manufacturing process improvements, and develop validation strategies and testing guidance for changes that improve quality, cost, and supply of product.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with Operations management, Manufacturing, and R&D Engineering organizations to integrate new/improved products or processes into the existing manufacturing site.
• Co-write and/or reviews test protocols for the validation of new/changed equipment, processes, and test methods.
• Lead, Train, and participate in root cause investigations of non-conformances for product and processes in the Irvine, CA facility.
• Plan and implement projects to reduce manufacturing costs, improve processes, increase product quality and reliability and enhance process capability.
• Serve as a member of Product Development Teams for Irvine based Projects.
• Help drive the tools of quality into the manufacturing processes.
• Help guide the creation of KPI’s for quality and manufacturing processes
• Other duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
• Minimum 2-5 yrs. experience in a regulated manufacturing environment – medical device industry experience preferred (GMP/QSR and ISO 13485)
• Hands-on experience with Root Cause Investigation tools (5 Whys, 6M, Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Charts, Contradiction matrix)

Principal/Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Research & Development | Irvine

SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic professional for a full time position as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This will support an expanding operation for commercialization of our next generation prosthetic feet, ankles, knees, and legs. Working closely with the entire Freedom Innovations engineering and operations team, he/she will be responsible for the ongoing engineering support of prosthetic limbs in production.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, experience and leadership in developing complex mechanical solutions for medical devices. They should have a proven track record as a hands-on engineer in a growth company and poses the ability to contribute to the development of products from concept to launch.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead the design, development, and release of detailed electromechanical systems

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Collections Specialist

Accounting and Finance | Irvine, California

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Working off an Excel Spreadsheet this person will perform collection tasks, involving calling customer for payments and resolving any issues. Working with the sales team as needed. This position is also back up for posting cash applications, processing credit card and ACH payments.

This position within Freedom’s finance department will have the responsibility to oversee the customer loaner product program. Freedom lends products to customers while their product is being serviced or repaired. This person will track the pool of loaner products, ship loaner products to customers, work directly with customer to have the loaner product returned to Freedom, and report the status of the pool of loaner products to appropriate personnel with in Freedom (Sales, customer service, manufacturing, management).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vice President, Research & Development will lead all product development engineering efforts for the company. He/she will have responsibility for directing the mechanical design, electrical hardware, software, and firmware development and deployment efforts to ensure effective development of new products. The VP of R&D will lead the identification, monitoring and, in conjunction with business development, the licensing/acquisition of new technologies and alliances that can be incorporated into the company’s current and future products. The VP of R&D will also be responsible for leading a team of engineers who will develop high quality innovative products while meeting project timelines. A key focus of the role is to provide strong technical product leadership coupled with equally effective project management skills.
• Develop, direct and maintain a system to manage all product development programs and projects, including a rigorous review process, in order to ensure attainment of key milestones and adherence to product specifications, timelines and budgets.
• Lead the engineering teams to promote a high-performance, results-driven environment with a strict adherence to project management requirements.
• Support Marketing in developing a strong product pipeline and a portfolio of marketed products that are differentiated and provide competitive advantage for the company.
• Formulate and implement the long-term strategy with respect to new and emerging technologies that advance company objectives.
• Attract, develop and retain top talent for the R&D function, while motivating staff to continually improve its performance.
• Support the identification, monitoring and, in conjunction with business development, the licensing/acquisition of new technologies that can be incorporated into the company’s current and future products.
• Drive all R&D aspects of Intellectual Property (IP) to ensure Freedom to Operate, working with lawyers, designers/architects/scientists, as required, to write/submit patentable inventions.

• Work with Quality and Regulatory Assurance to ensure products are developed and validated in a manner that complies with global regulatory requirements for Class I and Class II medical devices

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
The VP of R&D will possess strong technical knowledge and vision and have a demonstrated history of leading engineering teams in the development of new medical device products, bringing these products to market on time and within budget.
• Bachelors or advanced degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in progressive research and product development leadership roles within global companies that develop, manufacture and sell complex medical devices.
• Integrated software and hardware system engineering and project management skills are required.
• Experience in setting and scaling the research and development function, with the proven ability to attract, inspire, motivate and retain top tier talent.
• Proven ability to establish, articulate and implement a concrete product development strategy that clearly aligns with corporate and commercial goals.
• Medical Device Regulatory, Quality Assurance and Compliance experience.
• Experience with distributed teams and business partners.
• Prosthetics or robotics experience is not required, but considered a plus.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Develops cross-platform mobile and desktop applications that enable both internal and external users to design, diagnose, manufacture, set up, and configure lower-limb microprocessor-controlled prosthetic devices

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain a wide variety of cross-platform applications deployed to Windows, iOS, Android, and Mac platforms
