Software Verification and Validation Engineer

Research & Development | Irvine, California

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Software V&V Engineer owns formal verification activities including: requirements and risk analysis, planning, protocol design and execution, test script development and execution, data analysis, defect tracking, and report generation

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop test methods, procedures, and automated scripts for product and system verification according to product requirements and clinical use cases
• Produce validation plans, SOPs, work instructions, protocols, user manuals, system design documents, and other required quality system documentation
• Plan and execute bench tests and lab protocols involving human subjects
• Design, code, and manage automated validation systems, tools, and scripts
• Collaborate within Engineering, and among other departments to insure full compliance with company quality systems and standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• BS or MS in Engineering (Computer Science preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in V&V Engineer role (medical devices preferred)
• 5+ years hands-on software development experience
• High proficiency using scripting tools such as Python, Ruby, JavaScript, and/or MATLAB (Python preferred)

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

• Superior verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
• Superior logical and analytical skills and a passion for quality and excellence
• Solid understanding of design controls and risk management
• Expertise in FDA, IEC, and ISO requirements relating to medical devices
• Working knowledge of software development lifecycle, agile development, unit and functional test methodologies
• Experience with version control and issue tracking tools such as Git and Jira
• Familiarity with C, C++, or C# highly desired

Sr. Electrical Engineer

Research & Development | Irvine, California

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Perform electrical designs for lower limb prosthetics.  Designs include analog and digital circuitry and battery management for portable devices.   Work with product design team to package electronics into system architecture; including circuit board layout, cable routing, and connection systems.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and release detailed electrical designs
  • Support project teams to manage specifications, schedule and budget
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Seasoned knowledge of product development life cycle including planning, hazard analysis, requirements analysis, detailed design, development, verification and validation testing in a process-driven environment

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS 

  • Problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and a strong desire to learn
  • Board level embedded system design experience using microcontrollers in electromechanical devices
  • Ability to lead PCB layout, design fitting and packaging, fabrication, assembly and board bring up activities

Clinical Prosthetist

Sales/Clinical | Field Based - Northeast, Central or Western US

SCOPE OF POSITION

To provide prosthetic clinical support and training to Freedom Innovations customers, internal personnel, and to the US sales organization. The position requires extensive experience in patient care and highly effective communication skills for various public speaking assignments and providing instruction at educational seminars. The development of educational materials, letters of medical necessity and other written content required to support products are also within the scope of this position. Working with R&D staff on product development and evaluation will be required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and present Freedom Innovations educational programs and presentations.
• Train and support Regional Sales Managers on Freedom products.
• Initiate and manage Freedom Innovations efforts to assist our customers in obtaining insurance authorization for our products including, but not limited to, the development of letters of authorization, as well as, providing personalized assistance to our customers.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by providing and resolving customer issues with our products, as well as, documenting and reporting customer contacts/issues in a logical and usable fashion.
• Monitor the O&P industry and report to the company on product concepts, competitor news, industry products and scientific reviews.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by selecting, fabricating and fitting Freedom Innovations products’ in a clinical setting, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Contribute to the department’s effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• A minimum of five years’ experience as an ABC certified prosthetist (CP or CPO).
• Excellent written and verbal communicational skills as demonstrated in interview and prior work experience.
• Computer literate, specifically, in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Travel

• Up to 75%, including some weekends.
• Position is home based.
• Must reside in area of responsibility.
• Attend National and local O&P shows and events.

Time Distribution

85% of your time will be spent:
• In the field doing clinical courses (Fit Forums), product training and clinical support helping to drive sales for your region and Freedom.  Your main focus is to clinically support your region/company in achieving the stated revenue and profit goals. To show this alignment with sales, a portion of your compensation is tied to sales results.
• Attend and present at national and state meetings.
• Attend competitive courses. Report back on the competitive courses.

15% of your time will be spent:
• R&D: New product field evaluations and development, core team meetings. All new product evaluations need to be complete and thorough.
• Clinical help desk support as needed.

General Expectations

• On Time: Arrive at all courses and meetings at least 15 minutes early.
• Prepared: Presenter should be proficient in all material being presented.
• Dress: Suit or business casual depending on the meeting

Product Manager, Downstream Marketing

Global Marketing | Irvine, California

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Product Manager, Downstream Marketing is responsible for managing the in-line product portfolio for Freedom Innovations (Knees, Ankles, Feet) on a worldwide basis. This individual will work closely with the three global regions (US, EMEA, APAC) to develop product strategies, campaigns and promotions that will help drive revenue worldwide. They will be responsible for overall in-line product marketing strategy, including positioning, messaging, pricing, digital marketing, market research (when needed), revenue analysis and planning, sales force alignment, and distribution/partnership marketing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the comprehensive in-line product portfolio for Freedom Innovations (Knees, Ankles, Feet) on a worldwide basis
• Monitor and analyze market & revenue trends to capitalize on product marketing opportunities, and develop and implement appropriate marketing plans to address each
• Manage all marketing communication activity for the portfolio, including: sales brochures, mailers, websites, apps, product catalog, packaging, etc.
• Manage global product forecasts for in-line portfolio;
• Develop and drive messaging/positioning, pricing, and sales channel strategy.
• Maintain ongoing competitive and market analysis, conducting market research (quantitative and qualitative)
• Create and implement sales promotions by working closely with the sales, marketing and clinical services teams
• Develop and manage expense budget for area of responsibility.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree with technical, marketing, communications or business emphasis
• 4-6 years of product management experience in the medical device or similar technical field
• MBA, or similar graduate degree, preferred
• Demonstrated experience in managing a significant product, product line, or program
• Demonstrated success defining and launching new programs and/or products
• Elite communication skills
• Experience working with a Direct Sales Force
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
